Okanogan County is in North
Central Washington, bordered north by British Columbia,
Canada, south by the Columbia River, west by the Cascades, and Ferry
County to the east. At 5,281 square miles it is the largest county in Washington. Millions
of acres in the Okanogan National Forest playground welcome you year around. Grand Coulee Dam, the Methow Valley, Conconully Lake, and
many other attractions are close by. Hiking, skiing, fishing or just enjoying 300 or so days of sunshine, the Okanogan
is it.
835 feet above sea level, Okanogan enjoys a valley moderate climate. Less than an hour east is the Columbia Plateau high desert;
and west takes you to the Cascade Mountains.
County population is 38,400. The
City of Okanogan, with a population of 2,415, is the second largest city in
the county, and the county seat.
